Introduction

Ways to Use this Site
This site is YOUR resource. After a detailed needs assessment and literature review, the site was designed by knowledgeable university-based curriculum specialists assisted by experienced classroom teachers so that it will work effectively as a flexible classroom resource. The site has been fully tested by classroom teachers and evaluated by teachers, students and a university-based evaluation team.

This site consists of seven units:

  • Inquiring about Alcohol
  • Alcohol - Mind and Body
  • Why Do People Drink?
  • Sticky Situations
  • My Home Town
  • Knowing Myself
  • Educating Myself and Others

You can use as many of these units as appropriate to your situation. The units are modular and do not need to be used in any particular sequence. Here is an overview of all the Learning Outcomes of the seven units to help you choose which units are appropriate to your students' learning needs and the curriculum in your jurisdiction.

We do, however, recommend that you do two things at the outset:

  • take the students on the site's Guided Tour, then
  • use the Inquiring About Alcohol unit.
